About Amy Meadows:
Amy is a nationally recognized author, speaker, designer and instructor in the field of Visual Merchandising and Retail Design. After 25 years as the head of Window Display, Holiday and Marketing Events for Marshall Field’s/Macy’s, she now runs Windows Matter, a retail design consulting firm.
Windows Matter’s mission is to serve independent businesses, revitalization efforts and training. Her clients include Phoenix’s Musical Instrument Museum, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Loop Alliance’s Pop-Up Art Loop as well as consulting for a variety of downtown/business district agencies on storefront improvement projects. She has made frequent local and national media appearances on HGTV, PBS, NBC, WGN, ABC, CBS, NPR and CNN as well as being featured in the Chicago Reader, Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times and Newsweek.
In addition, she serves on the faculty of Columbia College Chicago, creating the Visual Merchandising and Window Display coursework in the Fashion Studies Department. Her engaging, no-nonsense approach for solving branding and marketing challenges by means of innovative presentation and experiential strategies makes her a sought-after consultant and speaker for arts organizations, educational seminars and historic business districts.
