Today’s media landscape is filled with unlimited entertainment and convenience but also serious problems ranging from cyberbullying to addiction. How can parents help prepare young adults to navigate a media-saturated world without becoming overwhelmed by the many pitfalls their children might encounter? This workshop focuses on media research that can provide fact-based approaches to fostering healthy mass media consumption and creation. Presented by Dr. Kristin Gumminger, Professor of Communication at Trinity International University. This program will focus on a parent-based approach, though parents can certainly bring teens if they wish.
