Presented by Dr. Christian McWhirter, author of Battle Hymns: The Power and Popularity of Music in the Civil War (2012)—and several articles in publications such as Civil War Monitor and the New York Times Disunion Blog. In addition, Christian works as a Research Historian at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and edits the Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association. He was formerly an assistant editor for The Papers of Abraham Lincoln.
It's recommended, though not required, to read Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders. Books are available for checkout at the front desk and on Libby with your library card.
