Event Details
Have you ever read a book and wanted to know more about its backstory? Now you can! We are proud to announce “Pages of History”, rebranded and back by popular demand. Partnering with the Grayslake Historical Society and the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, three books have been chosen to highlight various events and times in our regional history.
February 27: A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
March 26: Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury
April 23: The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
Each program will be presented by a historian who will share information about the period, social context, and historical events surrounding each chosen book. Reading each novel is helpful, but not required. For example, while reading The Devil in the White City will be helpful for additional knowledge, the program will focus on the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 and notorious serial killer H. H. Holmes. Space is limited, so register in the events calendar.
