Sew a tote bag to bring with you to the beach, farmer’s market, or wherever the summer takes you! Use your own sewing machine, check one out from the Library, or make an appointment in the Hub to use one of ours. 

For this project, you will need the following supplies:

  • 1/2 yard cotton or canvas fabric
  • 1/2 yard of complementary cotton or canvas fabric for inner lining
  • 1/2 yard of fusible fleece interfacing (optional, but makes the bag sturdier)
  • 42" of 1 in. wide canvas strap
  • fabric scissors or rotary cutter
  • a sewing machine
  • coordinating thread
  • an iron
